Who we are
Cat & Crow CIC is a Community Interest Company based in Torfaen. The formal company details appear in the website footer.
The information we collect depends on what you choose to do here. Browsing a public page is different from joining the mailing list, sending us a message or registering for a programme. We aim to collect only what we need for each purpose, limit access appropriately and avoid turning personal information into a hobby.
If you have a question about your information, use the Contact page and say that your enquiry is about privacy or data protection.
Mailing list
If you join the Cat & Crow mailing list, we use the email address you provide for occasional news, session information and useful resources. EmailOctopus manages this list for us.
New sign-ups use double opt-in: you need to confirm your email address before you are subscribed. You can unsubscribe using the link in any mailing. Mailing-list consent is separate from taking part in a Cat & Crow activity; joining a programme does not mean agreeing to marketing.
Your mailing-list information is held by the service until you unsubscribe or it is otherwise removed in line with our records and provider settings.
Contact form
If you contact us through the website, we use the name, email address, enquiry type and message you provide to read and respond to your enquiry.
The form is processed on the website server and uses Resend as the email delivery provider to send the enquiry to Cat & Crow. Submitting this form does not add you to the mailing list. The website does not save your message in its content database.
Please do not use a general contact form to send detailed medical information, highly sensitive personal information or anything inappropriate for ordinary email.
Programme and participant information
Some Cat & Crow programmes may need additional information for registration, eligibility, attendance or evaluation. Where that applies, the relevant process should explain what is collected, why it is needed and how it will be used. This public website’s general forms do not silently become a participant record.
Website services and retention
The site loads Montserrat, Open Sans and Merriweather from Google Fonts. The provider receives ordinary technical connection information, such as an IP address, when your browser requests the font files. The fonts are not a Cat & Crow advertising or analytics service.
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected and for applicable organisational, legal, funding or safeguarding requirements.
A small first-party analytics counter is prepared for the future public domain and is inactive on this private preview. Once active, it keeps daily totals for page views, approximate first-page arrivals, broad referral source/domain, broad device category and successful contact/newsletter requests. These action counts do not include the form name, email address or message. We do not keep full IP addresses, individual browsing histories, a persistent visitor ID or full referring URLs in this counter. The aggregate totals are stored in the website’s existing D1 database and can be read only through the private management access. There is no separate analytics provider. You can object to these counts using the choice on the Cookies page; a yes/no setting stays on your own device and suppresses the page and form-success counts from that browser. Unique people cannot be counted accurately without identification. We have not set an automatic deletion period for these daily totals; this will be reviewed as part of our regular records practice.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information and exercise the other rights available under UK data protection law where they apply.
Use the Contact page and mark your message as a privacy or data-protection enquiry. If you are unhappy with how personal information has been handled, you can raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
