Cookies

Cookies, without the biscuit jokes.

Current technology

Websites sometimes use small files called cookies, or similar browser storage, to remember information, support essential functions or understand how a site is being used.

Cat & Crow aims to keep this to the minimum needed for the site to work properly and to be clear about anything optional. We have not added advertising or behavioural tracking to the site. The hosting platform may use security or access technology needed for reliable delivery; its exact cookie names can differ from our own website code.

Forms and tools

The small reflection question on Home works in your browser and does not send or store how you use it. The newsletter form sends the email address you submit to our server, which passes it to EmailOctopus. The contact form sends your submitted enquiry to our server, which uses Resend for email delivery. These services handle submitted data rather than placing a Cat & Crow tracking cookie in this site's browser code. See Privacy for how those form submissions are handled.

Our private article editor may save an unsent draft on the editor’s own device for recovery. This is separate from the public forms and is not a visitor-tracking feature.

Fonts

Montserrat, Open Sans and Merriweather are supplied by Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from that provider; this is not a Cat & Crow advertising or analytics integration.

If this changes

A small first-party analytics counter is prepared for when this website uses the public Cat & Crow domain. It counts page views, approximate first-page arrivals and successful contact/newsletter requests in daily totals. It does not use an analytics cookie or a persistent visitor identifier. A yes/no setting in your browser’s local storage remembers your choice if you ask not to be counted; it is not used to recognise you across visits. It is inactive on the current private preview. See Privacy for the categories kept. If our technology changes, we will update this page and review any necessary choices.
