Introduction to Cat & Crow

At Cat & Crow, we are dedicated to promoting mental and emotional wellbeing through a variety of innovative projects. Our umbrella company based in Blaenavon, South Wales, encompasses Cat & Crow Publishing, Cat & Crow Journalling, Cat & Crow Wellbeing, and Cat & Crow Retail. Each project, led by our dedicated founders, focuses on different aspects of self-help and therapy, united by a commitment to accessible mental health support and the transformative power of journalling.

Our Founders

Cat & Crow was founded by Kat Marriott, Gareth Wait, and Eleanor Rose. Kat, a Counsellor and Life Coach, brings her expertise in emotional healing to our journalling projects. Gareth, an Author and Psychotherapist, leads our publishing initiatives, and Eleanor, an Art Therapist and Biographer, guides our wellbeing resources. Together, they create a holistic approach to mental health and personal development.

Ethos and Values

Our ethos is built on the foundation of accessibility, community, and transformation. We believe that everyone should have access to quality mental health resources without stigma or financial barriers. Our projects are designed to empower individuals through self-expression, community support, and personal growth.

Cat & Crow Publishing

Led by Gareth, Cat & Crow Publishing focuses on producing self-help literature that speaks directly to the challenges faced by today’s adults. With titles like ‘Empty Your Stress Bucket’ and the upcoming ‘Head in the Shed’, our publications aim to provide practical tools for managing mental health.

Cat & Crow Journalling

Under Kat’s leadership, Cat & Crow Journalling offers outreach services in local libraries within Torfaen and Caerphilly. Our journalling groups facilitate a space where individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings in a supportive environment, guided by professional therapists.

Cat & Crow Wellbeing

Eleanor’s project, Cat & Crow Wellbeing, is an online resource centre that provides free access to a range of therapeutic materials curated by our team of therapists. This platform ensures that anyone can access high-quality resources from anywhere, fostering a better understanding of mental health.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Cat & Crow aims to expand our journalling groups across more regions and develop additional interactive online resources. We are exploring partnerships with educational institutions and health organisations to reach a wider audience and integrate journalling and therapy into more therapeutic settings.

Community Engagement

Community involvement is at the heart of what we do. We regularly engage with our users through workshops, feedback sessions, and community events to ensure our resources meet their needs. Our projects, such as the popular ‘Journalling in the Community’ initiative, demonstrate our commitment to social and environmental well-being.

Research and Development

At Cat & Crow, we are committed to ongoing research to stay at the forefront of therapeutic practices. Our collaboration with academic institutions and healthcare professionals helps us refine our methodologies and develop innovative approaches to mental health care.
